PacerTerm Components

Terminal emulation: VT420, VT320, VT102, PC-ANSI and TTY. VT420 emulation supports tall screens, color attributes, background color and pass-through printing to a file or local printer.

Connectivity: TCP/IP (Telnet), ADSP, LAT, Serial (direct connect and modem), PacerCT. The Telnet connection supports "ping". PPP and SLIP provide remote network connections. The Apple Modem and Apple ADSP connections support PacerTerm's "listen for connection" feature, allowing a host to establish the communication link.

File Transfer: FTP, PacerFT, XMODEM, ZMODEM. All of PacerTerm's file transfer options support background operation. FTP file transfers include the option to transfer multiple files.

Multi-Sessions Save Time
With PacerTerm, you can open and monitor several simultaneous terminal emulation sessions to one or more hosts. The multiple sessions feature increases network productivity: users can now access multiple host applications or perform multiple file transfers at the same time with each function visible in its own window. File transfers occur in the background, freeing the Macintosh to connect to additional hosts or to run other applications.

Powerful Scripting
PacerTerm includes PacerScript, a powerful and simple-to-use, HyperTalk-compatible scripting language. Scripts can be created using a record mode or by using PacerScript's editor, which includes on-line command builder and text help modes. AppleScripts saved as applications can be called from PacerScript. AppleScript can call PacerScripts. Organizations save time and money by creating customized front-end Macintosh-style dialogs that allow inexperienced users to perform sophisticated functions. This is the feature that PacerTermLite excludes.

Innovative User Interface
Keymapping allows any terminal function, script, or keystroke to be mapped to any key on the Macintosh keyboard. Any Macintosh function key can be programmed to execute a repetitive command or keystroke sequence.

SoftKeys are user-definable buttons that appear in their own window. SoftKeys are selected by simply clicking the mouse and can be programmed to perform terminal functions, execute host commands, launch scripts, send characters, load other SoftKey sets, re-map the keyboard or perform a combination of these functions.

Scroll Back and Search is a text string search facility that provides fast access to previous screen information.

MiniWindows reduces session windows to a smaller size, reducing screen clutter and allowing users to better manage their multiple sessions.

Drag Manager support makes copying text and transferring files simple drag-and-drop operations.
